The eREACH BIG DEAL here in Dayton with the Power of Viral internet marketing

I just wanted to tell you about a new internet program that REACH will be doing in the coming weeks. I will need participants so let me tell you a little bit about it.

Very shortly we are starting the eREACH BIG deal which will be very aggressive daily deals from local stores, services and restaurants. Usually 50% or more savings.

But, why would a business want to do this? The deal will be available for only one day and people can sign up for email, twitter, and facebook notification. There will be a threshold set for the number of deals sold before the deal will actually happen. If the threshold is not met, then nobody gets the deal. Obviously, if you want the deal, you want the threshold to be met so you will tweet it and post it on your facebook page to get others to consider it. This will create ENORMOUS VIRAL MARKETING POTENTIAL so long as the offering is strong and of broad consumer appeal.

In the mean time, the deal page tells about the deal and it tells about your business and service. It will be seen by thousands of eREACH members and anyone they share it with during that day. Hundreds will sign up for notification of future deals each day as they see things that they may want to buy. The number of new customers generated is significant and the exposure for the business is amazing.

levels What will take you or your company to the next level?A couple blog posts ago I shared about an e-book, “10-Minute Business Success“. I have been reading it and came across one of the discussions which was very thought provoking.

Paul Lemberg said this,

People ask the question, ” How do I generate breakthroughs?” I’m asked this question all the time, “How do I generate breakthroughs?” And the answer is always, “Look at the things you don’t know.” And that’s hard for people to do, right?” You don’t know what you don’t know.

But that’s where the breakthroughs are. Everything that you know is already incorporated into your business, which may not be bad…

It made me think of a couple things. Some people don’t know much about networking or, for example, the Rainmakers model of networking. They might say, “Networking, I don’t get it, I’m not interested and I don’t have the time.” And that might prevent them from trying to learn about it.

Another area might be something like twitter or facebook or other “social networking” relms. I was pretty much not going to do any of “that stuff” until another photographer talked about how it worked for him. I didn’t know what I didn’t know. And it is likely that getting to the next level takes “Looking at and trying things you don’t know.”

Last of all, I just met with a small business owner who has been building his business for many years. He is considering REACH magazine advertising, but it is not something he knows. The things that have built his business to this point are the things he knows and there is a reluctance to try something different. Even when I was able to show him REACH ads from other markets that were helping his same category of businesses to grow, he is reluctant to give it a try because it is something that he doesn’t know. I now have businesses which I work with grow from being Dayton only businesses to becoming multi-city enterprises and tell me that REACH is the backbone of what they have been able to do. They were willing to give it a fair try and look at the results.

Each of us have things that we need to try even when are uncomfortable or we feel like we don’t “get it.” But, sometimes when we go ahead and try something that we don’t know, it becomes the very thing that takes us or our business to the next level.

YOU don’t know what you don’t know!

If you have not visited a Rainmakers networking event, give it a try. If you are not doing facebook and twitter, give it a try. If you are a business that serves consumers and you have never tried REACH magazine, give it a try. You don’t know what you don’t know and that is what makes it hard, but I have seen each of these things take businesses to the next level.

This morning I had to leave the Rainmakers networking event before the activity in the middle, but I thought I would show you how animated and involved everyone is at these meetings. As I was networking with another fellow, he said that he had recently been to a chamber event with one of the smaller chambers in town. There were about the same number of people and they had a speaker. As soon as the speaker finished, everyone up and left. He did not meet a single person.

His comment to me was that he had already made some good contacts and the meeting had not really started yet. I don’t think that I saw anyone who was not meeting and getting to know someone at this meeting during that warm up networking at the beginning.

This is the video part of my small camera which includes audio. You tell me if you think that there was some good connections being made. This is not a networking group where you will end up standing around wondering who you should speak to. If you are not talking with someone, another person will come up to you and introduce their self to you. They might ask you if you have come before and if not explain more about the Rainmakers concept.

If you attended the meeting, tell us how many new contacts you made and if you scheduled a one-on-one meeting to deepen your understanding of the other person’s business and needs.

Our perceptions of others – kitchen table talk

I receive several e-newsletters and blogs via my email. This way I don’t have to go out and get the input I want. It comes to me in my inbox and I can look at it now or later. This blog is available that way. I don’t blog every day, more like once a week and I try to make it worth your while. This morning I found this interesting and true.

One time someone talked to me about this. They said, don’t think you know what others are thinking. You have to ask. This is true in sales too. Many new sales people encounter a negative buyer/prospect and at the end of the presentation, since things seemed negative, they don’t ASK for the sale, or ask if the prospect would like to move forward on the project. Many times decision makers are nervous about going forward and this expresses itself in a negative attitude, but inside they may be saying,”this is interesting and I want to go forward, I’ll see if this guy feels the same way.” Then at the end, the sales person just packs up and leaves never asking if the prospect would like to go forward. This was a major eye opener for me in two respects. First with my perception of my boss at that time and second when I started to close buys by people who seemed negative at first.
